Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc. designs, underwrites and markets legal expense plans. The Company's legal expense plans (referred to as memberships) provide for a variety of legal services in a manner similar to medical plans and covers the entire family. Plan benefits are generally provided through a network of independent provider law firms, typically one firm per state or province. Members have direct, toll-free access to their provider law firm, rather than having to call for a referral.The plan coverage includes will preparation, contract and document review, unlimited telephone consultations, assistance with moving traffic and motor vehicle related charges,trial defense services for civil suits and job related criminal charges, IRS audit protection and many other services at a 25% preferred member discount.Individual Family Plans range from $17-$26 per month. Employee Group Benefit Plans from $14.95-$24.95 per month.As of December 31, 2002, Pre-Paid Legal had 1,382,306 memberships in force, with members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba.
